Algebra I Teacher
The Quality Science & Mathematics Grant Program (QSM) provides materials and equipment to mathematics and science public school teachers. The QSM program has funds to award approximately $162,000 in grants to eligible classroom teachers for the 2012-2013 school year. Grants for approved materials and equipment are awarded on a competitive basis to individual classroom teachers to use in providing standards-based instruction to help meet state accountability goals. Applicants must show that their proposals will enhance the quality of instruction for regular education students who are enrolled in mathematics or science classes. Teachers who receive grants are awarded $750 to purchase non-consumable instructional equipment and/or materials/educational technology. The technology must be strongly linked to science/math instruction and support student learning. Justification for the purchase of this educational technology must be provided within the proposal. Applications are evaluated on a competitive basis by a Review Panel composed of representatives from the Louisiana Association of Teachers of Mathematics (LATM) and the Louisiana Science Teachers Association (LSTA). Point values assigned to each section are indicated on the proposal form.
Teachers interested in submitting a QSM grant for 2013-14 can find more information at http://www.seasystem.net/cgi-bin/qsm.
